Chinese HQ-9B air defense system failed in US-Israeli attacks on Iran. This failure caused huge losses and raised questions about the capability of Chinese military technology. This system completely failed to stop the missiles.
Tehran: The air strikes carried out jointly by America and Israel on Iran have caused massive destruction. It is believed that the damage was more because Iran’s air defense system, which is HQ-9B purchased from China, completely failed. After this failure, questions have also started being raised about Chinese technology. What Iran had bought from China considering it to be its ‘protector’ could not stop American and Israeli missiles. Earlier, even during India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, the same Chinese system was of no use to Pakistan. Now a worldwide debate has erupted on the capability of HQ-9B.
HQ-9B is built by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. The inspiration for making it was taken from Russia’s S-300 PMU and America’s Patriot PAC-2 system. Its first test took place in 2006. It is claimed that it can destroy the target in a range of 260 kilometers. China also claimed that it could monitor 100 targets simultaneously and attack 8 of them. Iran was dependent on HQ-9B for the security of its nuclear facilities and military bases. This deal with China was done under the ‘arms for oil’ deal.
But military experts believe that this system proved ineffective in the face of powerful air strikes by the US-Israel alliance. Of Iran’s 31 provinces, 20 including Tehran have suffered heavy damage. Donald Trump has said that America will continue attacks as long as necessary to achieve the goal of peace in the world.
