A digital agency employee exposed mental harassment and micromanagement on a salary of ₹28,000. When she complained about the office environment to a co-worker, she was threatened with firing. The company keeps a strict eye on every activity of the employees.
The salary is only Rs 28,000 per month, but there is no accounting for the mental stress received in return. There would be many people around us who remain troubled due to the bad behavior of their manager or boss. One such story is going viral on social media. A boy working in a digital agency has narrated his ordeal on Reddit. She told how she was facing severe mental harassment and micromanagement in the office. The situation became such that when he chatted with one of his colleagues about the bad environment in the office, he was threatened with firing.
The boy had told his colleague over chat that due to health problems caused by the office environment, he had to spend Rs 5,000 from his own pocket to consult an ENT doctor. This very thing stung the manager. The boy wrote in his post, ‘Insulted today, maybe I will be fired from the job tomorrow’. He further said, ‘Today the manager insulted me in front of everyone regarding Teams chat. Asked me whether I come to the office to work or to joke. When I objected to him checking my personal chats, he became even angrier. He threatened to send screenshots of the chat to the owner and get me fired from the job.
It has also been told in the post that the company has made a special HR software. Through this, the time from the log-in time of the employees till the time they go to the bathroom is also monitored. The environment of the company is so toxic that even the HR manager got fed up and left the job. The boy’s salary is Rs 28,000 per month. Depending on performance, incentives can range from Rs 0 to Rs 12,000. There is no insurance or other facility. But, if there is a delay of even one minute in logging into the office, that day’s leave is deducted.
The employee also expressed disappointment over the current condition of the content writing field. He alleged that many companies hire freshers for Rs 12,000 and are cheating them by creating content using AI tools and selling it to foreign clients. Many people commented on this post. Most people advised him to find a new job and leave as soon as possible.
