A 65-year-old woman has been arrested for performing black magic on the judge’s chair in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka. The accused woman entered the court room and sprinkled mustard seeds on the judge’s chair. The woman was arrested after the incident was captured on CCTV.

Chikkaballapur (Karnataka) [भारत]July 14 (ANI): A 65-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly practicing black magic on the chair of the First Additional Senior Civil Judge and JMFC court in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, police said.

CCTV footage revealed

According to Chikkaballapur city police, the accused woman named Manjula allegedly entered the court premises and performed black magic by sprinkling consecrated white mustard seeds on the judge’s chair. Police said the incident came to light after CCTV footage recorded two days ago surfaced, in which the woman was allegedly caught committing the act inside the court room.

“Two days ago, the woman was seen allegedly sprinkling white mustard seeds on the judge’s chair in the CCTV footage,” the officer said.

Action taken under this law

Based on the complaint lodged by Netra, Chief Administrative Officer of the court, a case was registered and investigation initiated, following which the accused was arrested. A case has been registered against the woman under the Karnataka Inhuman Evil Practices and Black Magic Prevention and Eradication Act, 2017, police said.

Police said, ‘The court has sent the woman to judicial custody for 14 days.’

Further investigation into the matter is underway. More details are awaited. (ANI)
