Gate 2026: Registration of 2026 registration of GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2026 has started for engineering and technology students. This time the examination is being conducted by IIT Guwahati and many major changes have also come out with the notification. - Fill your personal and educational details.
- Upload all the necessary documents.
- Submit the form by paying the fees.
- Download the form print or PDF and keep it with you.
Important dates related to GATE 2026
- Start of application: 28 August 2025
- Last date for application without late fees: 26 September 2025
- Last date with late fees: 9 October 2025
- Exam Dates: 7, 8, 14 and 15 February 2026
- Result announcement: 19 March 2026
Who can apply?
- Students who are in the third year of graduation.
- Candidates who have completed recognized degrees in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities.
- Applications can only be made online through the GOAPS portal.

What new changes have taken place in GATE 2026?
This time a special change has been made in the examination pattern. Energy Science (XE-I) paper has been added to the Engineering Science (XE) category. That is, now the total number of papers has increased to 30. Even in the last few years, there were many new papers in GATE, in which-
- Biomedical engineering (bm)
- Environmental Science and Engineering (ES)
- Humanities and Social Science (XH)
- Geomatics Engineering (GE)
- Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA)
- Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) are included.
Gate 2026: What is the application fee?
The application fee for GATE exam has been fixed separately according to the category. SC, ST, PWD and women candidates will have to fill Rs 1,000 per paper without late fees. If they fill the form with late fees, the fee will be 1,500 per paper. For all the other candidates, the application fee is Rs 2,000 per paper without late fee, while it will have to pay Rs 2,500 per paper with late fees.
