New Delhi [भारत]July 9 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday announced that a strong system is being created to make India completely infiltration-free and ensure that infiltration does not happen. Shah made this announcement while addressing the Conference 2026 of Superintendents of Police of Land Border Districts in the national capital. He stressed that the central government would seriously attack the drug menace “in the next three years” and “overcome it too”.
keeping an eye on demographic changes
Explaining how Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Demography Mission to study demographic changes, identify abnormal factors contributing to demographic growth and recommend measures to prevent such changes in future, Shah said, “A strong system is being built to make the country completely infiltration-free and ensure that infiltration does not happen at all.”
Noting that the Modi government is committed to curbing the abnormal demographic growth caused by unnatural factors through a tough approach, the Home Minister pointed out that the primary reason for demographic changes in the border areas is illegal infiltration.
Preparing for impenetrable border security
The minister said the Modi government has put in place an all-round system to make border security impenetrable, thereby shifting India’s approach from reactive to proactive. He further said that the Modi government is moving from an isolated border post system to building an integrated security grid. The Union Home Minister stressed the importance of ensuring that information on demographic changes due to unusual factors in the border areas is disseminated from the grassroots level to the highest levels at the earliest. He also informed that the Modi government is fencing the 1,610 km long India-Myanmar border at a cost of about Rs 31,000 crore.
According to Shah, the government’s objectives are to prevent proxy wars, illegal infiltration, spread of radicalism, drug trafficking, smuggling, drone-related threats, cyber crime, organized crime and demographic changes; making border areas more livable; preventing migration from these areas; And to ensure their safety.
Vision of Smart Border
Noting that the conference has given an institutional shape to the comprehensive approach to border security in the times to come, the Home Minister further said that “we will also move forward holistically to ensure coastal border security.” He also said that this conference will focus on discussing the problems related to border security, addressing the concerns related to their solution and formulating appropriate policy measures in this direction.
Shah reiterated that India’s border security system, based on the smart border concept, will become the most modern in the world in the coming years. He said the Modi government, through their mutual integration with allied border security forces, state and district administrations, relevant stakeholders of the Government of India and local citizens – is building a strong all-round security grid. Shah stressed that a secure border, a prosperous border area and an alert society can together make the country secure.
permanent solution to problems
Noting that the country has been freed from Naxalism and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and the North-East, which is an indicator of our collective success, Shah said earlier the problems were permanent and the solutions were temporary. “In the Modi government, we are striking at the roots of the problems and making the solutions permanent.”
Shah said the central government has increased investment in border infrastructure by 400 per cent and has adopted a scientific approach to strengthen border security. He said that under the Vibrant Village Programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the last village of the country as its first village. Under this initiative, efforts are being made to prevent migration, generate employment and ensure 100 percent implementation of government welfare schemes.
