A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe allegations of rigging in the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) examination. Inspector General of Police S Ajita Begum has been made its chief. The SIT will work under the direct supervision of the ADGP of the Crime Branch.
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [भारत]July 9 (ANI): According to Kerala Police, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is led by Inspector General of Police S. Ajita Begum will do. The case pertains to irregularities in the evaluation of the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) examination conducted for key-level posts in the State Planning Board.
The police are also investigating recent allegations related to the conduct of PSC exams. The Kerala Home Department has issued an order handing over the investigation to the Crime Branch. The Kerala Police order said, “In accordance with the above Government Order, the Government has directed the Crime Branch to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the recent allegations regarding irregularities in the examinations conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission. Keeping in view the seriousness of the allegations and the importance of ensuring speedy investigation, it has been decided to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) with immediate effect, headed by S. Ajitha Begum, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Economic Offenses Wing Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram will do.”

Superintendent of Police Zakaria Mathew and DSP Ajaynath ji will also join the SIT. “To conduct a detailed and expeditious investigation into the above allegations, the Special Investigation Team will consist of the following members: Zakaria Mathew, Superintendent of Police, NRI Cell, PHQ, and Ajaynath Ji, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch Headquarters,” the order said.
Investigation will be done under the supervision of ADGP
The police order further said, “The Special Investigation Team (SIT) will work under the direct supervision of the Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch. The SIT will expedite the investigation of the above case and submit fortnightly progress reports to the PHQ without fail. The Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch may include other officers or personnel in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) as per requirement to ensure effective and sustained investigation of the case.” (ANI)
