Baruipur case: Minister Agnimitra Paul said – all accused arrested within 24 hours. Agnimitra Paul Says All Accused In Baruipur Case Arrested In 24 Hours

West Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul said that the police have arrested all the accused in the Baruipur rape-murder case within 24 hours. He accused Trinamool Congress of politicizing the incident and sought a report on the crimes committed during the tenure of the former CM.

West Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul on Tuesday said that the police took immediate action in the case of rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in Baruipur and arrested all the accused within 24 hours. He also accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of politicizing the incident. He also demanded to release the pending investigation report into the incidents of crime against women that took place during the tenure of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Zero-tolerance policy against crime

He said, “There is a zero-tolerance policy against crime, and it will be implemented exactly as the Chief Minister has said. The accused, who were named in the FIR in the Baruipur case, have been caught within 24 hours. This morning, when the police were taking him to recreate the crime scene, he tried to escape and attacked the police. This will not be tolerated.”

Targeted at TMC

Taking aim at TMC, Paul alleged that women did not get justice during the party’s tenure. He said, “The former chief minister should march, but first of all, bring the report of the commission that was supposed to come… We want to know what was your conversation with Vineet Goyal in the night regarding the RG tax case… You should take out a candlelight march for the thousands of rape cases that took place in West Bengal during your tenure.”
