Guwahati (Assam) [भारत]July 9 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said narcotics worth more than Rs 3,253 crore have been seized here since 2021 and 26,500 criminals have been arrested.
War against drugs will continue: CM
“Our relentless fight against drugs is yielding decisive results. We will continue this action until we dismantle the drug networks,” the Assam Chief Minister wrote on Twitter. The Chief Minister further said, “A total of 4175 people were arrested in 2021 and this number increased to 4901 in 2025.”

On the other hand, participating in the discussion on ‘Drugs Free Assam’ in the state assembly on Tuesday, the Assam Chief Minister affirmed that the state’s relentless crackdown on drugs will continue in full force, while also lauding the tireless efforts of the Assam Police and partner agencies in safeguarding the future of the youth.
The Chief Minister of Assam also acknowledged the unwavering support of the Central Government and neighboring states in strengthening this joint fight against drugs. (ANI)
