A crowd of fans gathered outside Dhoni’s house since morning. People were holding posters in their hands, cutting cakes and expressing their love for this legendary cricketer.

Many fans gathered near Dhoni’s house remembering his contribution to Indian cricket. Also expressed hope that he would be seen playing once again on his home ground before retirement. A fan told ANI, “Whenever we see him, he always looks fit. We want him to remain fit like this and keep inspiring us. We request him to play at least one match in Ranchi before playing his last match. So that this wish of our fans can be fulfilled.”

- He is India’s sixth highest run scorer in ODIs. Sachin Tendulkar (18,426 runs) is at the top in this list.
- Dhoni’s record is also special because he scored more than 10,000 ODI runs while batting in the middle order and maintained an average above 50, even though he often had to come to the crease under pressure in less overs.
