Two back-to-back devastating earthquakes in the north-central part of Venezuela have shaken the entire country to such an extent that many big cities, including the capital Caracas, now look like ruins. Tremors echoed across the ocean: Many cities blacked out, airports stalled
The impact of this earthquake was not limited to Venezuela only, but its devastating tremors were felt till Bogota, the capital of neighboring country Colombia, due to which people there too came out of their homes out of fear. Luxurious hotels, residential complexes and government offices in Venezuela’s La Guaira, Valencia and other major cities have been heavily damaged. Immediately after the disaster, power grids in many states failed and internet services were completely disrupted, making it almost impossible to contact the affected areas. In view of the seriousness of the situation, all flights at Maiquetía International Airport have been temporarily stopped and the runway is being investigated.
