The news the world was waiting for has arrived – the Strait of Hormuz will reopen. In return, America will lift the sanctions on Iran. Further talks will take place in Geneva. However, even after this agreement, some clashes have occurred in Hormuz. CNN reports that the US halted a military operation to seize Iran’s uranium reserves at the last minute. Now the security of that store has been doubled. Taking him out would be like risking his life, but America’s condition is that he will have to be taken out at any cost.
America got hurt, Iran became stronger
When this war started on February 28, America might have thought that it would end soon. But despite losing its big leaders, Iran’s rule did not break. Hormuz will open
Several rounds of negotiations took place under the mediation of Pakistan for an agreement between Iran and America. But till now, every time things went wrong at the last moment. There was a ceasefire in principle in April, but the tension did not end. The world hopes that this will not happen this time. It was clear that America wanted to get out of this quagmire, but Iran’s conditions were not acceptable to it, and the same was the case with Iran. The most important agreement that has been reached is the opening of Hormuz. In return, America will remove its naval blockade imposed around Iran. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragshi has said that some people inside Iran are opposing it and the final decision has not been taken yet, but if a temporary agreement is agreed then it will be signed. Pakistan has also confirmed to have an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding). But Israel is not part of this agreement. There were also reports that in the meanwhile, there were many serious differences and debates between Trump and Netanyahu.
uranium issue
Well, opening of Hormuz and lifting of restrictions will happen soon. After this, there will be 60 days time for talks. The real issue is uranium. American officials say that it will be destroyed and taken out of Iran. This is a dangerous mission and how it will be executed is yet to be decided. Just before news of the deal broke, CNN reported that the US was preparing a military action to remove it, but it was put on hold after the deal.
Iran’s seized assets
At present, no decision has been taken on returning the seized property of Iran. This was Iran’s biggest demand. Till last week, Iran was saying that there would be no talks without it. Even now Iran says that the property will be returned, while America is denying this. In exchange, Iran would be reintegrated into the global economy and sanctions would be lifted. Officials say that the work of returning the property will be done gradually, keeping in mind the behavior of Iran. The matter had reached this point many times before, but it got worse in the last moments. But this time not only America and Iran, but also Gulf countries are expressing hope.
Israel-Iran
Iran itself has said that one of the objectives of this MOU is to resolve the Israel-Hezbollah conflict. This is also a good thing. If Iran asks, both Hezbollah and Hamas will lay down their arms. Iran’s proxy war against America and Israel must end. Even if the old ‘Trident alliance’ (which included Israel, Turkey and pre-revolution Iran) is not formed again, but at least both the sides will have to stop dreaming of each other’s destruction.
If everything happens as per the MOU, peace can return to West Asia. After this only the issue of Gaza will be left. But who knows, Israel-Iran peace might find a way to solve that problem too!
