Banks in some states of the country are going to remain closed due to various reasons between June 15 and June 21, 2026. According to the holiday calendar released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for a total of 11 days in the month of June including Saturdays, Sundays and various festivals.
However, not all states have the same holidays. Many holidays apply only to certain states due to regional festivals and local events. In such a situation, before going to the bank, it is important to know whether the bank will be open in your city or state or not.
Where will banks remain closed on June 15?
Banks will not be closed across the country on Monday, June 15, 2026, but a holiday has been declared in some states. Young Mizo Association (YMA) Day will be celebrated in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram. On this occasion all the banks there will remain closed. Whereas in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar, due to Raja Sankranti festival, banking services will be affected and bank branches will remain closed. In the rest of the states of the country, banks will remain open normally on this day and business will continue as usual.
Banks will remain closed across the country on June 21
It is Sunday on 21st June 2026. Due to it being Sunday, all government and private banks of the country will remain closed. On this day, cash deposit, check clearance or other branch related work will not be possible in any bank branch.
There will be many holidays in the last week of June also
Even in the last week of June, banks will remain closed in many places due to festivals. Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada on 25th June on the occasion of Moharram. Next day i.e. on 26th June, due to Moharram, banking services will be affected in many big cities of the country. Bank branches will remain closed in many cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Bhopal, Jammu and Srinagar. Apart from this, there will be a bank holiday in Shimla on 29th June on the occasion of Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti. On June 30, banks will remain closed in Aizawl due to the regional holiday called Remna Ni.
Digital banking services will remain operational
Despite bank branches being closed, customers do not need to worry much. Digital services like ATM, Internet banking, mobile banking and UPI will be available 24 hours as before. Customers can send money, pay bills, check balance and avail other banking services sitting at home. If you have to go to the bank to do some important work, it would be better to plan in advance keeping the holidays in mind. With this you will not have to face any kind of problem.
