The legal battle surrounding It Ends With Us is not yet over, with fresh allegations drawing Taylor Swift again into the ongoing dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
According to claims made by Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, Lively’s legal team allegedly pressured the global pop star to publicly support the actress during the controversy. The lawyer further alleged that Taylor Swift’s private text messages with Lively could be exposed if she declined. In a swift move, Blake Lively’s legal team has strongly denied the accusations.
Did Blake Lively blackmail Taylor Swift?
The latest claims emerged through court-related filings and public statements made by Justin Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, amid the escalating legal dispute involving the actor-director and his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively. As per a report in IB Times UK, Freedman alleged that he had been informed by what he described as a ‘reliable’ source that members of Lively’s legal team attempted to persuade Taylor Swift to publicly support the actress as scrutiny surrounding the lawsuit intensified.
According to Freedman, the alleged request was not limited to seeking a statement of support. He claimed Swift’s representatives were warned that years of private text conversations between the singer and Lively could be made public if the Grammy-winning artist refused to stand by her friend.
Blake Lively’s lawyers refuse the allegations
Blake Lively’s attorney, Michael Gottlieb, swiftly rejected the allegations in the strongest possible terms.
“This is categorically false,” Gottlieb said. He further stated, “We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources, and completely untethered from reality.”
So far, neither Blake Lively nor has personally addressed the latest allegations. The singer has largely stayed away from publicly commenting on the legal dispute pertaining to the It Ends With Us controversy despite repeated speculation about her friendship with Lively.
The controversy has also started discussions about the current status of Blake Lively and Taylor Swift’s friendship, which many believe has been dented to the point of no repair. For the uninitiated, Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, were absent from the wedding celebrations of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, which was a huge shocker considering the actress and pop-star have been friends for decades. As per a new report in Daily Mai, Taylor Swift, who was the Godmother of Ryan-Blake’s children James, Inez and Betty, has also had to remove herself from that position.
Whether the new allegations are proven to be true or not, it looks like the It Ends With Us case sure has dented the long-standing friendship Taylor and Blake shared.
