According to complaints lodged on outage tracking platform Downdetector, a large number of Instagram users faced problems using the app. Users reported that:

- Direct messages (DM) were not loading.
- Some accounts suddenly got logged out.
- Error messages were visible when opening the app.
Many people took to other social media platforms to confirm whether the problem was specific to them or whether users around the world were being affected.
Technical glitch seen on Facebook too
Along with Instagram, Facebook users also complained of login failures and server issues. Downdetector data showed a sharp increase in complaints within a short period of time, clearly indicating that the problem was not limited to any one region. Many users reported that they were unable to access their accounts, while some were being asked to login repeatedly.

Technical experts believe that such problems usually occur due to temporary glitches in the server, networking or backend systems. In most cases, companies fix the problem within a short period of time after it is identified.
