Which new record was created by laddu sale in Tirupati temple in May 2026? After all, why is the demand for Laddus Prasad continuously increasing in Sri Venkateswara Temple? How many ingredients are required to prepare more than four lakh laddus daily?
Tirupati: The sale of Laddus Prasad in the famous Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple of Tirupati has created a new record. More than 1.2 crore laddus were sold in the month of May this year, which is the highest monthly sale so far. This sale has also left behind the record of May last year.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, which handles the management of the temple, said in a press note that a total of 1,21,35,528 laddus were sold in May this year. This figure is much higher than the last few years. If we look at the figures, 1.01 crore laddus were sold in the month of May 2024 and 1.1 crore laddus were sold in the month of May 2025. Officials say that these figures show that the sale of laddus is increasing tremendously every year.
In view of the increasing demand for laddus offered as prasad in the temple, the management has also increased its production. Now more than four lakh laddus are being prepared every day. For this, about 68 tonnes of material is required daily. This includes 32 tonnes of sugar, 16 tonnes of gram flour, 16 tonnes of ghee, 3.5 tonnes of cashew nuts, two tonnes of raisins, 400 kg of cardamom and 800 kg of sugar candy.
It takes about 170 grams of ingredients to make one laddu. It contains things like 78 grams of sugar, 39 grams of pulse flour, 36 grams of ghee, seven grams of cashew nuts and three grams of raisins. A total of 56 counters have been made in the temple premises so that devotees can easily get laddus.
