Will Raipur become a gems and jewelery hub? Will PPP model increase investment and employment in Chhattisgarh? In an important meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, strategies were prepared for many big industrial projects.

An important meeting of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Evaluation Committee of Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation under the Department of Commerce and Industry was organized today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Vikassheel. In the meeting, the speedy progress of big projects related to industrial, commercial and infrastructure in the state was discussed in detail.
State-of-the-art Gems and Jewelery Park will be built in Raipur
In the meeting, a plan was agreed to develop a gems and jewelery park equipped with modern facilities in the agricultural produce market complex (Mandi Road) of Raipur. The proposed Raipur Gems and Jewelery Park is expected to give a new identity to the gems and jewelery industry in the state. This will also create new employment opportunities.
Transport Nagar will be built in Bilaspur to provide relief from traffic problem
To reduce the problem of increasing pressure of heavy vehicles and traffic jams in Bilaspur city, a plan has been made to build a large and well-equipped transport city. Modern facilities like large warehouse, logistics hub, huge parking area, vehicle repair center and rest area for drivers will be provided in this project.
World class convention center will be developed in Nava Raipur
The development of an international level modern convention center in Nava Raipur was also discussed in the meeting. This center will be prepared to organize large corporate events, global business meetings and exhibitions. This is likely to boost business tourism and investment activities in Chhattisgarh.
Projects will be prepared through public private partnership model
The government is moving towards developing all these ambitious projects under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. Various aspects related to implementation, investment and management of projects were discussed in detail in the meeting.

In this important meeting, Principal Secretary of Law and Legislative Department, Mrs. Sushma Sawant, Secretary of Finance Department, Dr. Rohit Yadav, Secretary of Commerce and Industry Department, Mr. Rajat Kumar, Member Secretary of NITI Aayog, Mr. Ashish Bhatt, Special Secretary of Finance Department, Mrs. Sheetal Shashwat Verma and senior officials of Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation were present.
