This incident took place in Adenigarh village of Boudh district of Odisha. An elderly man named Krishna Chandra Sahu was sleeping in his room last night. The window of the room was open, from where a poisonous snake came straight to Sahu’s bed. While sleeping he felt that something was crawling on his body. When he opened his eyes, he was shocked to see the sight in front of him.

Krishna Chandra Sahu had become a victim of paralysis some time ago. Because of this, he could neither move his arms and legs properly nor shout loudly for help. When he tried to move away a little out of fear, the snake tightly gripped one of his hands. The rest of the snake’s body was on a chair kept nearby. If he moved even slightly or screamed, a snake bite was almost certain. But Sahu did not lose courage even after seeing death so close. He spent the night without moving like a statue for about four hours, holding his breath.

When the family members came to his room in the morning, they were stunned to see the scene there. He saw that a snake was wrapped around Sahu’s hand and chair. Seeing this, instead of shouting, he acted with great restraint. He knew that if the snake was teased it could bite Sahu. Therefore, with great care, the people of the house managed to separate the snake from Sahu’s hand without causing any harm to it.
