Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan prep: No alcohol, low carbs, high-altitude workout

Salman Khan is leaving no stone unturned to get into peak physical form for his upcoming film ‘Battle of Galwan’. The 59-year-old actor will be seen playing a soldier in the movie, which is based on the deadly hand-to-hand combat between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley.

Sources tell India Today that Salman Khan is undergoing an intense transformation, as the film’s first schedule will be shot in the challenging terrain of Leh. To prepare, he has roped in a personal trainer and is following a strict fitness regimen.

As part of his prep, the actor has completely given up alcohol and is cutting down on carbohydrates. After Sikandar, Khan has become particularly conscious of his physique and is focused on shedding fat to appear leaner and fitter for the role.

In addition to weight training, Khan is running and doing cardio in a high-pressure chamber installed in his gym. This setup allows him to acclimatise his body to the high-altitude conditions he’ll face during filming.

He has also eliminated junk food and fizzy drinks from his diet. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Galwan stars Chitrangda Singh opposite Khan in the lead role.

Recently, Salman Khan unveiled his . It showed his bloodstained face, moustache and a wired club in his hand. The motion poster from the movie also highlights Colonel Babu’s army uniform and rank insignia.

The release date of ‘Battle of Galwan’ is yet to be officially announced.
