Vibhuvana Sankashti Chaturthi 2026 Date: Worship of Lord Ganesha has special significance in Hindu religion, and when it comes to Sankashti Chaturthi, the enthusiasm of the devotees doubles. But Vibhuvan Sankashti Chaturthi coming in the year 2026 is very special and rare. This Chaturthi does not fall on ordinary days, but in Adhikamas, which comes approximately once every three years. It is believed that by observing this fast, even the biggest problems of life can be solved in a jiffy.
According to the Panchang, Chaturthi Tithi will start from 9.22 pm on June 3 and will continue till 11.30 pm on June 4. But during the fast of Sankashti Chaturthi, moon darshan and Arghya at night have the most importance. Since Chaturthi Tithi will be present on the night of 3rd June. Therefore, the fast of the rare Vibhuvan Sankashti Chaturthi falling in Adhikamas will be observed on 3 June 2026.
Auspicious time of moonrise and Arghya
Moon darshan has special significance during Sankashti Chaturthi fast. This fast is not considered complete without offering Arghya to the Moon.

- Auspicious time for offering Arghya: Will be from 10:04 pm to 10:43 pm.
It is believed that by offering Arghya to Chandradev by mixing raw milk in water at this time, one gets the full results of the fast and the blessings of Lord Ganesha remain intact.
Vibhuvan Sankashti Chaturthi worship method
On the day of fasting, wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, meditate on Lord Ganesha and resolve to fast. During the puja, offer red flowers, durva, vermillion, modak and laddu to Lord Ganesha. Chant Ganesh mantras and recite Ganesh Atharvashirsha or Sankatnashan Ganesh Stotra. Keep the fast throughout the day with devotion and restraint. When the moon rises at night, offer Arghya to Chandradev and then perform the Aarti of Lord Ganesha. After this, break the fast by taking Prasad.
Why is the worship of ‘Vibhuvan Palak’ Maha Ganapati special?
It is told in religious texts that on Vibhuvan Sankashti Chaturthi, the ‘Vibhuvan Palak’ form of Lord Ganesha is worshipped. This form is considered to protect and maintain all the three worlds. It is believed that worshiping with true heart on this day removes financial, family and mental problems from a person’s life and opens new paths to success.
