According to family members, Sagar Gupta was working as Chief Officer in the Merchant Navy through Avon Navigator Company. It was told that on July 18, his ship was heading towards Russia. During this time there was an alleged drone attack on the ship. The family claims that Sagar was present on the deck at the time of the attack and died after being hit by it.
