The news of the death of 30-year-old Merchant Navy Chief Officer Sagar Gupta, resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, in an alleged drone attack on a ship has left the entire family in deep shock. Alleged drone attack on ship, Sagar was present on deck
According to family members, Sagar Gupta was working as Chief Officer in the Merchant Navy through Avon Navigator Company. It was told that on July 18, his ship was heading towards Russia. During this time there was an alleged drone attack on the ship. The family claims that Sagar was present on the deck at the time of the attack and died after being hit by it.
However, this incident has not yet been officially confirmed publicly by the concerned shipping company or government agencies.

Only verbal information to the family, demand to bring back the mortal remains
The family members say that they had received verbal information about the incident on July 21, but till now no written information or official document has been handed over. For this reason the family is in constant uncertainty and worry.
Sagar leaves behind his mother, wife, 5-year-old daughter and 7-month-old son. His father has already passed away. In such a situation, a huge mountain of sorrow has fallen on the family.

Sagar’s elder brother and sisters have appealed to the Central Government and the concerned ministries to immediately intervene in the matter. The family demands that Sagar’s mortal remains be brought to India soon so that his last rites can be performed with full respect.
