Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh on August 1. TDP said that this airport will become the gateway to the development of North Andhra region. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is reviewing the preparations for the grand inauguration.
TDP state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivas Rao on Saturday said a grand inauguration ceremony of the Bhogapuram International Airport is being planned on August 1, to which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited as the chief guest.
Talking about the upcoming programme, Rao said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has requested Prime Minister Modi to inaugurate the airport. Rao said, “The grand inauguration of Bhogapuram International Airport is planned on August 1. Our Honorable Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu has requested our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji to inaugurate the airport as the chief guest.”
He expressed hope that the inauguration would be a big event and highlighted the importance of the airport for the region. The TDP leader said, “We feel that this international airport is a gateway to the development of the entire North Andhra (Uttarandhra) region, and we are extremely happy about it.”
Milestone for North Andhra
Earlier on July 18, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had said that Bhogapuram International Airport will prove to be a milestone for North Andhra and will change the economic picture of the region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the airport on August 1, and the Prime Minister’s schedule has now been confirmed.
According to a release, the Bhogapuram airport project, which was started in 2014 during the Telugu Desam Party government, was given impetus by the current coalition government and was completed within two years. The state government is planning to organize the inauguration of this world class airport on a grand scale.

As part of the preparations, the Chief Minister held a high-level review meeting on the arrangements for the inauguration on Saturday. The meeting was attended by Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Minister of State Nadendala Manohar, BJP State President P.V.N. Madhav, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, K. Atchannaidu and Vangalpudi Anitha along with senior officials participated.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that every part of the airport reflects the rich culture and artistic heritage of Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister said, “The inauguration by the Prime Minister should be remembered as a historic occasion. The welcome arrangements should showcase the tribal traditions and handicrafts of the region. The inauguration of the Bhogapuram airport should be celebrated by every family and every citizen of North Andhra. Every resident should feel proud of this airport. Public participation of students and youth should be encouraged so that the inauguration becomes a celebration for the entire region.” (ANI)
