UP CM Yogi Adityanath stated that development requires a strong security environment, recalling UP’s pre-2017 lawlessness. Inaugurating the Nausena Shaurya Vatika, he said strength earns respect and violence is needed to defend righteousness.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday emphasised that development can only thrive in a strong security environment, recalling the lawlessness that plagued the state before 2017. Addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the ‘Nausena Shaurya Vatika’ here, CM Yogi said, “Development plans can only progress effectively in a better security environment. Remember, before 2017, this very Uttar Pradesh used to have curfews every day. Professional mafia and criminals had made life difficult. Just as our army protects the borders under all circumstances, it is also the duty of citizens to respect those soldiers.”
Strength Ensures Respect and Peace
He further highlighted the importance of strength in ensuring respect and peace, stating, “Only when we are strong on the security front will the world befriend us. If you are weak, no one bows down to the weak. Our Rishi tradition also says, ‘Ahimsa paramo dharmah: Dharma himsa tathaiva cha’ (Non-violence is the ultimate duty, but so is violence in the service and defence of Dharma (righteousness)”
“If someone is a threat to the country and society, then non-violence cannot work; violence is ultimately required against him. And these are our principles followed by the national army against the enemies of the country,” CM Yogi further said.
INS Gomati at Nausena Shaurya Vatika
CM Yogi further said that INS Gomati, which served the Indian Navy for many years protecting India’s maritime borders, retired in 2022 and has now been placed on the banks of the Gomati River. “INS Gomati, after serving the Indian Navy for a long time and protecting India’s maritime borders, retired from the Navy in 2022. Today, after its retirement, it has been placed on the banks of the Gomati River. This is an opportunity to inspire the youth of the country and the state to learn about the Indian Navy. Our Navy operates with the motto ‘Nabha Sparsham Deeptam’. Achieving this lofty goal requires a big vision,” he said.
‘Nabha Sparsham Deeptam’ is the official motto of the Indian Air Force (IAF). It translates to “Touch the Sky with Glory”.
“Remember, the Prime Minister told the countrymen that for a developed India, every citizen must join the five varnas. The most important of these five varnas is the feeling of respect we have for the army,” CM Yogi added.
