In a new interview, Damon revealed that one of his stunt doubles was a woman, who was impersonating the Greek hero while facing down the giant Laestrygonians. “When we did the Force Perspective thing with the Lestrygonians, there were stuntmen who were seven feet tall, and then they took stuntmen who were under five feet,” Damon said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, as cited by Deadline.
“My double was a woman, a female stunt performer with the most amazing hands I’ve ever seen. When she came into the catering tent, it was the first time I met her. I went over to her and hugged her and thanked her for all the work she’d done,” Damon continued, as quoted by Deadline.
Based on Homer’s epic poem, ‘The Odyssey’ is the story of Odysseus and his long journey home after the Trojan War. The film was shot on IMAX cameras and is currently showing in IMAX theaters. According to Deadline, ‘Odyssey’ has performed well at the box office so far, earning US$264.1 million worldwide in its opening weekend. The figure is a record for Nolan, whose ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ released in 2012 with US$249 million worldwide.
The film also recorded its best Monday of the year in the US, with a reported gross of US$18.67 million. It has already become Nolan’s biggest worldwide opening, surpassing his previous releases ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ (US$249 million) and ‘The Dark Knight’ (US$198 million). (ANI)
