Ex Agniveer CAPF Recruitment: The Central Government has taken a big decision for the youth who have completed four years of service under the Agneepath Scheme. Now former firefighters will get special benefits in recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) and Rifleman in Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and Assam Rifles. The government has created a separate category for them in which 50 percent reservation, relaxation in age limit and many concessions will be given in the recruitment process. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai gave this information in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.
Separate category created for former firefighters
The government has created a separate category for former firemen in the recruitment of Constable (GD) and Rifleman of CAPF and Assam Rifles. Out of the vacancies available under this category, 50 percent posts will be reserved for former firefighters. The government says that its objective is to provide better employment opportunities in the security forces to the youth serving in the army.
Age relaxation will be given by 3 to 5 years
The government has also given big relief regarding the age limit. Former firefighters will get a relaxation of 3 years in the maximum age limit in recruitment. Whereas the former firefighters of the first batch of Agneepath Yojana will be given an additional relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit. Before this, the candidates of the first batch will get more opportunities in recruitment.
Exemption will also be given from written examination
Former firefighters have also been given relief at many stages of the recruitment process. They will also be exempted from physical standards, physical efficiency test (PET) and written examination. The government believes that former Agniveers have already fulfilled all these standards while serving in the army for four years, hence they will not need to complete the same process again.
‘X Agniveer Wing’ was also built
Keeping in mind the career and future of former Agniveers, the Home Ministry has also created a special ‘Ex-Agniveer Wing’. Its objective is to provide better coordination and assistance to the Agniveers coming out of the army in their further employment and career.
The tenure of the first batch will be completed this year
Till now, the first batch of fire fighters recruited under the Agneepath scheme have not completed their four years of service. According to the government, the first batch will complete its four-year tenure by the end of this year. After this, a large number of former Agniveers will be eligible for these recruitments of CAPF and Assam Rifles.
Proposal to make more than 25 percent of firefighters permanent
Meanwhile, news has also come to light that the three armies have proposed to increase the number of Agniveers to be kept in permanent service after four years. In the beginning of the Agneepath scheme, it was decided that after completing four years of service, only 25 percent of the Agniveers would be kept in regular service on the basis of merit, but now the three armies have suggested increasing this number. The Indian Navy has given the biggest proposal and has demanded to increase this number from 25 percent to 75 percent. The Army and Air Force have proposed to increase it to 50 percent, however this proposal has not yet received the final approval of the government and no official decision has been taken in this regard.
