Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s bat is neither stopping runs, nor stopping sixes and fours, nor is he avoiding breaking records. Even in IPL 2026, this 15-year-old young opener has broken many records and created many new records himself, which were never seen in the last 18 seasons. When Rajasthan Royals faced a do or die situation in the race for the playoffs, Vaibhav hit such sixes that it broke records in IPL 2026. Vaibhav became the first and youngest Indian in the history of IPL to hit 50 sixes in a season.

In the match against Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals had a big target of 221 runs to win. in reply to Vaibhav Suryavanshi Couldn’t get the start he is known for. Even in the first 10 balls, he could score only 5 runs, which included one four. But after this, Vaibhav created a stir by scoring 88 runs in the next 28 balls.

Vaibhav hits half century of sixes

Vaibhav completed his half-century in just 23 balls, which was his slowest half-century this season. During this, Vaibhav completed his 500 runs in this season. He achieved this feat in just 13 innings and thus became the youngest batsman to complete 500 runs in a season. Even after this, his style continued and every bowler remained his target, against whom he hit sixes.

Within no time, Vaibhav touched that figure, which no other Indian batsman could reach. With his 7th six, Vaibhav completed 50 sixes in IPL 2026. Only for the fourth time in the history of IPL, a batsman has hit more than 50 sixes in a season. The last time this happened was in 2019, when Andre Russell hit 52 sixes. But Vaibhav did not stop at this and he also crossed Russell by hitting more sixes.

Gayle’s record is just so far

Vaibhav could not complete his century and was out after scoring 93 runs in 38 balls but he hit 10 sixes in his innings. This season, he has now hit 53 sixes in 13 innings and has come second in this list. Now only Chris Gayle is ahead of him, who hit 59 sixes in 2012 and till date that record has not been broken. But Vaibhav will have at least one match and if he reaches the playoffs, he will have at least 2 more matches. In such a situation, Gayle’s record may be broken.
