Exclusive! ‘Why would he apologise?’: Govinda’s manager reacts to security scuffle with paparazzo

New Delhi: Govinda did not apologise to senior video journalist Sohel Fidai after the reported clash involving his security team, according to the actor’s manager, Shashi Sinha.

Govinda recently attended the grand finale of Mrs India Queen Pehchan Meri Season 4 in Mumbai as the chief guest. While exiting the venue, the actor was surrounded by fans and paparazzi eager to click pictures. Amid the rush, one of his security guards allegedly pushed a paparazzo, sparking a brief argument. However, Govinda calmly diffused the situation by apologising before leaving in his car.

Clarifying the incident, Sinha said, “It was not Govinda’s fault, so why would he apologise? Govinda was attending a beauty pageant, while the paparazzi wanted an interview in a restricted area. The security staff were simply doing their duty.”

He further added, “Security personnel do not always know who is who at crowded events. They stopped him, and an argument followed. Such things happen. Even I have been stopped at events before, but there is no need to create a scene because they are only doing their job.”

Speaking about the incident, Sohel Fidai said the disagreement began after security guards pushed him. However, he maintained that Govinda himself was cordial when they later met.

“Govinda was warm and polite and after all that he gave me a byte while getting into his car,” Fidai shared.
