Why is it called “Little England”?
In fact, during the British colonial era, Shimla was considered the summer season capital and since then it came to be called “Little England”. British officers used to come here and spend time here to escape the scorching heat of the plains and for this reason, with time, the British also built houses, workplaces and public places inspired by the European style. Because of this, you get a feel of England in the architecture and lifestyle of this city and then it got the name Little England. Even today the same glimpse can be seen here.

The weather remains cool in the morning and evening. If you want to see snowfall then you should go here between December to February.
How to reach here?
The distance from Delhi to Shimla by road via Multan Road is approximately 341 km. It may take you 6 to 7 hours to reach here. You can go to Shimla by driving yourself by car, there is connectivity by road also, hence one can take a bus. You can reach Kalka by train and from here take a taxi to Shimla.
