New Delhi: Mumbai has recorded hot and humid weather for the past few days, which has increased concerns among the citizens. Due to the increase in humidity and increased sweating, people are having problems combating the conditions.
The 24-hour water cut announced for Navi Mumbai will add to the problem as the Meteorological Department has warned that a heat-wave will continue in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar for the next few days. This means that the heat will significantly increase in the coming days and citizens will have to bear the brunt of the heat.
The state is currently experiencing a heat wave-like situation in some districts. Due to this, the maximum temperature has increased and citizens are having to endure the heat. Meanwhile, the mercury in Akola reached 45.6 degrees on Tuesday and the maximum temperature in Madhya Maharashtra is also increasing.
Where is the heat most intense?
The heat waves are more intense in Mumbai in North Konkan as well as the interior parts of Thane and Palghar districts. Meanwhile, Mumbai city and its suburbs have been suffering from hot and humid weather for the past few days. The maximum temperature in the city’s suburbs is also being recorded between 37 and 39 degrees, while the temperature in Mumbai city has been stable at 35 degrees for the past four days.
Weather forecast for the next few days
In March too, heat wave-like conditions were recorded in Mumbai, the temperature in Mumbai reached 40 degrees and in Thane it reached 42 degrees. It is being predicted that the temperature will increase in the next few days.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that heat wave-like conditions will prevail in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar on Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, heat wave-like conditions will prevail in Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, and Raigad on Friday while heat wave-like conditions will prevail in Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg on Saturday with the Meteorological Department issuing ‘yellow alert’ for these districts.
