What to do on the day of Vat Savitri fast?
On the day of Vat Savitri fast, married women should take bath in the morning and do proper makeup. Doing 16 makeup on this day is considered very auspicious. Wear red-green colored clothes. Keep a fast, offer water to the roots of the banyan tree. Then worship with turmeric, kumkum, vermillion, flowers etc. Offer sweets. While circling the banyan tree, wrap the raw thread 7 times.
