Delhi Terror Attack Alert: Terrorist threat alert has been issued at Delhi BJP headquarters and government offices located on DDU Marg. Security agencies are on high alert. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area amid fears of suicide bomber, car bomb and IED attacks.
The country’s capital Delhi is once again in high alert mode. Security agencies have become fully active after receiving information about a possible terrorist threat to the BJP headquarters and nearby government offices located on DDU Marg in the national capital. According to sources, intelligence inputs have expressed apprehension that terrorist organizations may target Delhi BJP office and important government institutions.
After the inputs came to light, the entire area has been converted into a high security zone. Heavy deployment of Delhi Police, Special Cell and Paramilitary Force personnel has been made. Security agencies are closely monitoring every activity.

Fear of suicide bomber and car bomb attack
According to sources, the alert received by the security agencies mentions possible terrorist conspiracies like suicide bomber, car bomb, shootout and IED plant. This is the reason why security around the BJP headquarters has been increased manifold. Intensive checking of vehicles coming and going around the headquarters is being done. The help of additional CCTV monitoring and dog squad is also being taken to keep an eye on suspicious activities. Security agencies have also instructed government offices and sensitive places in the area to remain alert.
Delhi Police and security agencies on alert mode
As soon as information about the threat was received, Delhi Police further strengthened the security arrangements in the area. Barricading has been increased on DDU route and checking campaign is being conducted at many places. According to police officials, at present the situation is under control but no carelessness is being taken. Security agencies believe that political and government institutions in the capital have always been the target of terrorists. For this reason, immediate action is being taken by taking every input seriously.
Delhi has been the target of terrorists before also
Delhi’s name has been included among those cities where many major terrorist attacks have taken place. The attack on the Parliament House on 13 December 2001 is still considered the biggest terrorist attack in the history of the country’s security system. That day, heavily armed terrorists had reached the Parliament complex. Due to the bravery of the security forces, all the terrorists were killed, but many security personnel were martyred. After this, in 2005, before Diwali and Eid, serial blasts in Sarojini Nagar, Paharganj and Govindpuri shocked the entire country. Many people died and hundreds were injured in these blasts.
In 2008, blasts in crowded areas like Connaught Place, Karol Bagh and Greater Kailash had raised serious questions on the security of the capital. The explosion outside the Delhi High Court in 2011 was also included in the most talked about terrorist attacks in the country.
The explosion near the Red Fort had increased the concern
Last year, a car explosion near the Red Fort area had also increased the concern of security agencies. Many vehicles parked nearby were damaged in that blast and there was chaos in the area. In view of similar incidents, this time the security agencies do not want to take any threat lightly. Continuous surveillance is being increased in sensitive areas of the capital.
Appeal to people to be cautious
Security agencies have appealed to the people to immediately inform the police about any suspicious object or person. It has also been advised to be cautious in crowded areas and avoid rumours. At present, security arrangements have been completely tightened in Delhi and agencies are continuously working on every input.
