With the initiative of Yogi government, Anganwadi centers of UP are becoming strong centers of maternal and child health. Crores of women and children have benefited through Nutrition Tracker, Sambhav Abhiyan and government schemes.

Lucknow. Due to the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the maternal and child health system is rapidly strengthening in Uttar Pradesh. About one lakh 90 thousand Anganwadi centers of the state are no longer limited to just distribution of nutrition, but have become major centers for health, nutrition and safe motherhood of pregnant women, children and lactating mothers.

So far, 2 crore 12 lakh children, pregnant women and lactating mothers have got the benefit of supplementary nutrition schemes in the state. Its positive effect has been that the rate of anemia among pregnant women has been reduced by more than five percent. At the same time, the percentage of institutional deliveries has reached above 84, which is being considered a major achievement of the Maternal Security Campaign.

Anganwadi centers and nutrition services strengthened with technology

Yogi government has made the nutrition distribution system more transparent and effective by connecting Anganwadi centers with modern technology. Now biometric system has been implemented in the distribution of supplementary nutrition, due to which the services are reaching the beneficiaries in the right manner.

Four types of growth monitoring devices and mobile phones have been provided to all Anganwadi centers for accurate identification of malnutrition and nutritional status. Along with this, the health of pregnant women and children is being continuously monitored through nutrition tracker.

Enhanced monitoring system through nutrition tracker and training

More than one lakh Anganwadi workers and ANMs have been given special training for the successful operation of the nutrition tracker. In this campaign, 98 percent achievement has been recorded under efficiency measurement, which is being considered a big success. More than 23 thousand capable Anganwadi centers are being operated in the state with modern facilities. Apart from this, 266 new Anganwadi centers have also been approved, which will further strengthen services in rural and remote areas.

Lakhs of mothers benefit from Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

More than 60 lakh women have got benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana in the state. Under the Janani Suraksha Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 1400 is being given to women giving birth in rural areas and Rs 1000 in urban areas. The effect of these government schemes is visible in the form of reduction in maternal and neonatal mortality rates. This has also increased awareness about safe motherhood among women.

Public representatives adopted thousands of Anganwadi centers

More than six and a half thousand Anganwadi centers have been adopted by public representatives and officials in the state. This has improved the monitoring, availability of resources and arrangements of these centres. Yogi Sarkar believes that a healthy mother is the strong foundation of a healthy society and prosperous future. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the Anganwadi system of the state seems to be further strengthening this thinking.

Big action against malnutrition through ‘Sambhaav Abhiyan’

“Sambhaav Abhiyaan” being run in the state to save children from malnutrition is also proving to be effective. Under this campaign, 1.7 crore children have been screened across the state. Apart from this, 2.5 lakh severely malnourished children have been registered and linked to special nutrition services. Due to this, work is being done rapidly towards improving the health of children.

Children are getting hot cooked meals at Anganwadi centers

Hot cooked meals are being provided daily to more than 35 lakh children in the age group of 03 to 06 years at Anganwadi centers of the state. Apart from providing nutritious food to the children, it is also helping in their physical development. 60 thousand women self-help groups have been linked to run this scheme. Through this, women are also being linked to employment and self-reliance.
