Yogi government is going to give a big honor to 1.43 lakh Shikshamitras in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the state level program in Gorakhpur on May 5. With the increased honorarium of ₹ 18,000, Shikshamitras will get new identity and strength.

1.43 lakh Shikshamitras will get direct benefits

About 1.43 lakh Shikshamitras working in council primary schools of the state are benefiting from this decision. According to the government, the new system has come into effect from April 1, 2026. Under this, 13,597 Shikshamitras of the Basic Education Department and 1,29,332 Shikshamitras of the Samagra Shiksha Yojana are now being given an honorarium of ₹ 18,000 per month. The benefits of increased honorarium have started being received from the month of April itself. Education Department officials believe that this will improve the financial condition of Shikshamitras and they will be able to perform their responsibilities in schools with more confidence.
