Salvo Launch: Navy’s strength increased, 2 missiles fired simultaneously from helicopter, target can change in the air! | Drdo And Indian Navy Successfully Test Naval Anti Ship Missile In Salvo Mode

DRDO and Navy successfully launched ‘salvo’ of 2 anti-ship missiles from helicopter. These missiles can change targets while flying. Additionally, new water-based armored vehicles have also been introduced.

New Delhi: Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Navy have achieved a major success in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday. Short-range naval anti-ship missile was successfully tested here. For the first time in history, two missiles were fired simultaneously from a helicopter, just seconds apart. The path of these missiles was monitored through the radar and electro-optical system of Chandipur Test Center in Odisha. Both the missiles accurately targeted the hull or lower part of the ship present in the sea. On this occasion, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, “The development of this missile will significantly increase our military capability.”

Technology that changes targets in the air!

The most special thing about this missile is that it can collect new information even during flight. If needed, this missile can change its direction or target in flight. It attacks by identifying the weakest part of the enemy ship, causing maximum damage to it.

What is ‘Salvo Launch’ capability?

Firing several missiles simultaneously from a single launcher in a very short time is called ‘Salvo Launch’. This technology helps in attacking easily by dodging the enemy radar system. This missile is completely made with indigenous technology.

Test of new warship project completed

Last Saturday itself, DRDO and Navy have successfully completed the ‘hydrodynamic performance’ and model test of a new warship project. In this test, the speed of the ship, its speed in water, engine power and turning ability were measured. DRDO Chairman Sameer V. Kamat, while handing over the report to Naval Officer Sanjay Sadhu, said that its results are at par with international standards.

New armored platforms introduced in Maharashtra

DRDO has also shown a new type of armored platforms in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra. According to the needs of the army, they have been designed in both track (chain belt instead of wheels) and wheeled models.

its features

It has an unmanned turret. Its powerful engine and automatic transmission increases its speed and capability. These vehicles can run not only on land but also in water. With the help of hydro-jet technology, they can move and turn easily in water. At present, 65% indigenous goods have been used, which is targeted to be increased to 90% in future. These vehicles also have the capability to fire anti-tank guided missiles.
