New Delhi [भारत]July 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoj Tiwari on Monday sharply criticized the opposition, accusing them of maintaining a “negative attitude” and habitually disrupting the House proceedings.
Speaking to ANI, Tiwari emphasized on the achievements made between the last session of Parliament and the first day of the monsoon session. He said, “The Prime Minister himself addressed the entire nation today. As this session begins, think how far we have come. We have also introduced hydrogen trains and note what significant achievements the country has made between the last session and this session. Today, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha made an important point: Why has it become such a precedent that Parliament is disrupted and unable to function on the very first day of the session? He urged everyone to work together to ensure that the House functions smoothly. Still, the opposition maintained its negative attitude.”
PM Modi enumerated the country’s achievements
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed reporters before the beginning of the monsoon session of Parliament and highlighted India’s recent achievements in the space sector and praised the country’s young innovators.
Young innovators praised
Modi said, “Just before the monsoon season last year, an Indian citizen reached the International Space Station, and the day before yesterday India’s young startup achieved a huge feat. There are very few countries in the world where such private enterprises have happened, and the youth of India have taken a new flight into space. This is a huge success.” Referring to the team behind Skyroot Aerospace, he said, “The young people working in this ‘Skyroot’ startup – I am told that the average age of their entire team is only 28 years. Such youngsters have accomplished this work; I am not talking about some 56 year old ‘youth’, I am talking about these startups in the country whose average age is 28, who have planted India’s flag in space.”
The monsoon session of Parliament began on Monday and will continue till August 13. The session will also mark the parliamentary debut of the Nationalist Civic Party of India (NCPI), which has been formed by 20 rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs who have merged their faction and formed an alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
