To make the Gaushalas of Haryana self-reliant, 820 e-rickshaws will be given. This purchase worth Rs 10.25 crore was approved in the meeting chaired by CM Nayab Singh Saini. Besides, other development projects worth Rs 363.82 crore were also given the green signal.
Initiative to make cow sheds self-reliant, will get 820 e-rickshaws
Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has said that the state government is implementing several effective schemes to make cow shelters self-reliant and economically empowered. Under these initiatives, 820 e-rickshaws will be provided to gaushalas across the state for livestock care and management. The Chief Minister was presiding over the meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee in Chandigarh on Monday.
The Chief Minister said that under the scheme, cow sheds with up to 1,000 cattle will be given one e-rickshaw, while cow sheds with more than 1,000 cattle will be given two e-rickshaws. The committee approved the purchase of e-rickshaws at a cost of Rs 10.25 crore.
He further informed that there are 770 gaushalas in Haryana, out of which 553 have less than 1,000 cattle, 79 have up to 2,000, 20 have up to 3,000, eight have up to 4,000 cattle, while each gaushala has up to 5,000 and 6,000 cattle respectively.
Development projects worth crores also approved
According to a release, the Chief Minister also approved laying of sewer lines in various colonies of Kaithal city at an estimated cost of Rs 12.87 crore. The project will provide sewerage facility to a large population of the city and is designed to meet the projected needs till the year 2042.
Besides, upgradation of water sewerage treatment plant at Khedar and construction of RCC tank at an estimated cost of Rs 27.70 crore was also approved.
Approval was also given to install five rainy wells (10 MLD capacity each) at an estimated cost of Rs 164.75 crore near Majhawali and Mothuka villages located in waterlogged areas near river Yamuna in Faridabad. The water extracted from these rainy wells will be tested for suitability as a drinking water source.
The Chief Minister also approved the construction of a second water house of 100 MLD capacity at Basai village under Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). This project will be implemented at an estimated cost of Rs 149 crore.
It was informed in the meeting that tenders for development works worth Rs 380.40 crore were awarded for Rs 363.82 crore, resulting in saving of about Rs 16.58 crore.
The Chief Minister directed that no delay or negligence in development works will be tolerated and directed the concerned officials to ensure that all the projects are completed within the stipulated time frame. He said that the highest standards of quality should be maintained in all development work.
