The man used to cheat the girl without meeting her. Sometimes by making the excuse of family emergency and sometimes by talking about business loss.

Used to cheat with many fake identities

The accused had created more than 30 social media accounts, in which he sometimes described himself as a doctor, sometimes as a film producer and sometimes as a businessman. 9 gold ornaments and about Rs 2 crore were found from him, which he had deposited in different betting apps to avoid the attention of the police. 8 SIM cards and about 2GB of photo-video data were found from him.

Used to collect photos from social media

Anand used to steal pictures of influencers with less followers to create different profiles. Then he used them to create fake profiles. Some private photographs of girls were also found from the accused, through which he used to blackmail them.

How was the accused caught?

Following a complaint in March, the police started investigation based on digital footprints, IP logs and WhatsApp activity. After this, the location of the accused was traced and he was arrested. According to the police, the accused was also arrested in Delhi in 2019 and Ghaziabad in 2023, but he went free each time.
