You come to your senses when you find yourself cheated. Taking advantage of such trust, 35-year-old accused Anand Kumar used to make girls his victims, who is now in the custody of Delhi Police.
Delhi Police has arrested Anand Kumar from 24 Parganas area of West Bengal. This accused is accused of cheating more than 500 women. He used to seduce women through dating apps, matrimonial sites and social media. After this he would do the same thing that a girl in love would do.
Used to hunt rich looking women
According to the police, the accused used to specifically target ‘rich looking’ girls and women from metro cities. He would first gain trust and then promise marriage. He used to force the girls to fall in love with him so much that when he talked about illness or business loss, they did not hesitate in giving money. The man used to cheat the girl without meeting her. Sometimes by making the excuse of family emergency and sometimes by talking about business loss.
used to create drama of fake death
In one case, the accused duped a South Delhi woman of Rs 7 lakh. When the woman asked for her money back, he spread false news of her death through one of her fake friends.
Used to cheat with many fake identities
The accused had created more than 30 social media accounts, in which he sometimes described himself as a doctor, sometimes as a film producer and sometimes as a businessman. 9 gold ornaments and about Rs 2 crore were found from him, which he had deposited in different betting apps to avoid the attention of the police. 8 SIM cards and about 2GB of photo-video data were found from him.

Used to collect photos from social media
Anand used to steal pictures of influencers with less followers to create different profiles. Then he used them to create fake profiles. Some private photographs of girls were also found from the accused, through which he used to blackmail them.
How was the accused caught?
Following a complaint in March, the police started investigation based on digital footprints, IP logs and WhatsApp activity. After this, the location of the accused was traced and he was arrested. According to the police, the accused was also arrested in Delhi in 2019 and Ghaziabad in 2023, but he went free each time.
