The Central Government has intensified preparations for the 8th Pay Commission. Important meetings are going to be held with organizations, unions and pensioners associated with the Defense Ministry and Railway Ministry in New Delhi on 13 and 14 May. In these meetings, issues related to salary, pension, allowances and service rules of employees will be discussed in detail.
According to the information released by the government, these meetings are part of the consultation process of the 8th Pay Commission. Its purpose is to take suggestions directly from central employees and pensioners, so that better recommendations can be prepared regarding salary and facilities in future. To attend these meetings, interested organizations and employees will have to apply on the official NIC portal. After submitting your memorandum in the prescribed format, you will get a valid Memo ID, through which the application process will be completed. Only selected applicants will be allowed to attend the meeting.

These meetings to be held in New Delhi will give an opportunity to the employees and pensioners to present their problems and demands directly before the Pay Commission. Employees’ organizations associated with defense and railway sector will be able to put forward their suggestions regarding salary increase, changes in allowances, pension reforms and service conditions. The government says that in the coming time, similar talks will be held with other departments and employee organizations also. The purpose of these meetings is to listen to the complaints and suggestions of the employees and to make the policies more transparent.
