Ravindra Kumar, a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, had reached Gaya with great aspirations. His family had prepared for the marriage by taking a loan. After this, the marriage took place with the bride in the temple as per Hindu customs and seven rounds were also taken.

The bride’s maang was filled with vermillion and gold and silver jewelery was also worn. But, no one had any idea that the whole story would change within a few hours of the marriage. Now the groom is calling himself a victim of fraud and the police is investigating the entire matter.

Actually, a very shocking and sensational case of fraud in the name of marriage has come to light in Gaya district of Bihar. Family members allege that immediately after the marriage was solemnized as per Hindu customs, the newlywed bride went away on a bike with her alleged agent carrying a bag full of precious gold and silver jewellery, cash and clothes. After this matrimonial fraud, the victim’s family has lodged a written complaint in the Mufassil police station of Gaya. Meanwhile, the police took immediate action and detained two suspects associated with this gang and are interrogating them rigorously.

According to the victim’s family, after the marriage, the alleged agent Shakeel asked for a photocopy of the identity card. He took the bride with him on a bike. When both of them did not return for a long time, the family members became suspicious. Later he realized that he had been cheated. According to the complaint, one lakh rupees in cash had already been taken in the name of arranging the marriage. Apart from this, the bride bought clothes at the groom’s expense and also spent money on make-up.

The family also alleges that before the farewell, the wedding videos and photographs in the mobile phone were also deleted. After this the bride ran away with the alleged agent. The elder brother of the victim Ravindra Kumar told that the family had got the marriage done by taking a loan. Lakhs of rupees were spent on the wedding including gold mangalsutra, earrings, silver anklets and toe rings. The family is in financial and mental crisis after the incident.

Two people in custody, main accused absconding

After receiving the complaint about the incident, Mufassil police station has registered a case and started investigation. The police have started interrogation by detaining the bride’s alleged elder sister and a middleman. However, the main accused bride and the alleged agent are still absconding. Police are conducting raids in search of them.

Investigation from the angle of fraud racket also

Police say that the case is being investigated from every aspect. It is also being investigated whether any organized gang committing fraud in the name of marriage is involved in this. Further legal action will be taken based on the investigation. At the same time, the side of the bride and other accused has not come forward yet.
