A 6-year-old child died and 18 others fell ill after eating Panipuri in Giridih, Jharkhand. Everyone has been admitted to the hospital after complaining of stomach ache and vomiting. The vendor is absconding after the incident and investigation is ongoing.
Ranchi: A painful incident has come to light in Giridih, Jharkhand. Here a 6 year old child died after eating Panipuri from a roadside cart. At the same time, 18 other people have fallen ill and have been admitted to the hospital. It is being told that all these people had complained of stomach ache and vomiting. The vendor selling Panipuri is absconding after the incident.
More than 18 people admitted to hospital
All the people who fell ill had eaten panipuri from the same cart on the roadside. Most of the 18 people who fell ill are children. After coming home after eating Panipuri, some people developed high fever, while others started having stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhea. Soon after this he was admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
This incident took place in Budgeto village of Mufassil police station area. The administration and health department have started investigation in this matter. According to the villagers, all of them had eaten panipuri from the same person, who used to sell panipuri from door to door. The health of many people started deteriorating on Saturday night and by Sunday the fever and stomach pain increased significantly.
The 6 year old child died during treatment. There is mourning in the family due to the death of the child and the local people are also shocked by this incident. Doctors have said that the health of the people undergoing treatment is being monitored very closely.
Panipuri seller absconds after the incident
After the incident, local police and administrative officials reached the hospital and inquired about the well being of the sick people. He has ordered an investigation. It is being told that the seller of Panipuri is a resident of Pulmo area and is absconding after the incident. Regarding this, Civil Surgeon Dr. Bacha Prasad Singh said, “18 people have fallen ill after eating Panipuri, and the condition of those 18 people is stable. What is the real reason, the investigation will reveal.”
