Bajaj Chetak has sold over 7 lakh units in India. This makes it one of the best-selling electric two-wheelers in the entire country.
Sales jump 25%, demand rising rapidly
Bajaj Chetak’s sales really took off in the last financial year (FY2026). Bajaj sold 2,98,436 scooters, which is nearly 25% more than the 2,39,087 units sold in FY2025. As of early FY2027, Bajaj controls about 22% of India’s electric scooter market.
Retro design with modern features
Bajaj Chetak looks classic and old-school, but it has modern touches too. It features a full metal body, nice paint colors like Matte Scarlet Red and Pistachio Green, LED lights, and a big 35-litre storage space under the seat. Because it’s comfortable and handles well, it’s a great choice for families and city commuters.
TFT display, navigation and smart tech
The newest Chetak C-Series scooters are packed with technology. They have a color TFT screen, Bluetooth, navigation, different ride modes, a reverse mode, hill-hold assist (which helps on slopes), and anti-theft systems. If you choose the optional TecPac, you can also get features like sequential turn signals, music controls, and ‘Guide Me Home’ lighting.
Up to 153 km range on single charge
The highest-end Chetak models have a powerful 3.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. This setup gives the scooter an official range (IDC-certified) of up to 151-153 km on one charge. It takes about 3 to 3.5 hours to charge the battery from 0% to 80%.
Price starts at Rs 89500
Bajaj Chetak models are priced from Rs 89,500 up to Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The final cost depends on which version and battery you choose. With its great range, attractive look, and rising demand, the Chetak is clearly one of India’s most successful electric vehicles.
