Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 5 (Desk): Emphasizing Balasaheb and Uddhav Thackeray’s influence in Bandra East and the Dadar, Mahim constituency, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Varun Sardesai kickstarted his campaign in Maharashtra and said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi has the full support of people.
Sardesai expressed optimism about the party’s strength in the constituency, which he described as a traditional stronghold for Shiv Sena. The leader attributed this robust support to the party’s long-standing influence and the recent backing from Congress, which had previously won the seat.
“We are getting a lot of love from the people. Bandra East Assembly has been a stronghold in this area. Last time a congress leader won from this seat, and this time the congress too is with us,” Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Varun Sardesai said while speaking to Desk.
In his contest against Late Baba Siddique’s son Zeeshan Siddique from the Bandra East constituency, Sardesai said that he considers him just an opponent.
Zeeshan Siddique has been announced as the NCP candidate for the Bandra East constituency, where he won in the 2019 elections, defeating Shiv Sena’s Vishwanath Mahadeshwar.
“I don’t consider any fight. He is just an opponent, he will campaign for himself and I will do it for my party. The people are going to decide,” he added.
He further pointed, “Last time also when Aaditya Thackeray stood in the elections, he won by leading with 60,000 votes. He is getting a lot of love from the people. In the last five years, he has done a lot of work for the people. Projects that were stalled for 20-25 years were also initiated by him. So he will definitely win with a big margin”
Voicing confidence in Shiv Sena’s candidate for the Mahim constituency, Mahesh Sawant, Sardesai said, “Our candidate from Mahim is also a youth leader from a humble background. Our candidate Mahesh Sawant will also win from the Mahim constituency. Mahim has always been loyal to Shiv Sena, Uddhav Ji, and the people here love Balasaheb.”
Sardesai concluded by reaffirming his belief in the authenticity of Shiv Sena under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray, emphasizing the party’s deep-rooted connections in these areas. “Our Shiv Sena is the original one, and people will stand behind it,” Sardesai remarked.
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set to take place on November 23.
In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena won 56 seats, and the Congress secured 44 seats. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, while the Shiv Sena won 63 and the Congress 42. (Desk)
