Zeenat Aman Advocates for Respect in Relationships Over Marriage

Renowned actress Zeenat Aman is known for her candid opinions and unique perspective on various issues, including relationships, marriage, and women’s freedom. In a recent appearance on the popular chat show “Rendezvous with Simi Garewal,” she shared her thoughts on live-in relationships and the essence of true companionship.

During the show, host Simi Garewal inquired about Aman’s personal life and her views on marriage. The actress made it clear that she has no intention of remarrying.

When asked if she is happy living alone, Aman responded in a thought-provoking manner. She stated, “Being alone does not solely mean being unmarried. A person can have a deep and beautiful relationship without marriage. The strength of a relationship is determined not by legal documents but by the understanding and respect between two individuals.”

Aman expressed, “I personally do not wish to marry again because I believe that two people can be happy together without marriage. When two individuals choose to live together and understand each other, that relationship becomes more genuine and robust. Relationships should be based on affection, not obligation.”

During the conversation, Aman also shared some painful experiences from her life. She mentioned, “My mother has passed away, and my husband, Mazhar Khan, is no longer with us. These events have taught me the harsh realities of life. Nothing in this world is permanent. If life itself is not everlasting, why should we expect every relationship to endure forever?”

She added, “Children do not always stay with their parents. They grow up and move on with their lives and decisions. The strongest and most reliable relationship one can have is with oneself. If a person learns to be happy alone, they can navigate every phase of life more effectively.”

Aman concluded, “When a relationship is not bound by marriage, law, tradition, or societal pressures, it tends to be more honest and respectful. In such relationships, people stay together because they want to, not because they have to.”
