Renowned actor Rajesh Kumar recently shared an emotional tribute to his late friend and fellow actor Satish Shah. The two had a long-standing professional relationship and were very close. Kumar spoke about his upcoming film, “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,” revealing that it holds a special place in his heart due to Shah’s recommendation.
During the trailer launch event, Kumar recounted how Shah had personally suggested him for the film. He expressed that this recommendation was Shah’s last gift to him, making the film particularly significant.
Kumar detailed the casting process, mentioning a call from casting director Mukesh Chhabra. He then had a conversation with director David Dhawan, who waited nearly 25 days to meet him while he was abroad. Kumar was deeply touched by Dhawan’s dedication.
He further explained that Shah and Dhawan were old friends who studied together. When Dhawan was selecting actors for the film, he consulted Shah about Kumar’s suitability. Shah praised Kumar, leading to his casting.
Kumar reflected on Shah’s legacy, stating, “I believe Satish Shah is still blessing this film. He was always someone who uplifted others. His humorous nature brought joy to everyone on set. Working with him was a valuable learning experience. Artists like him are rare, inspiring others with their wisdom.”
It is worth noting that Satish Shah passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. His death sent shockwaves throughout the film and television industry.
