Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) [भारत]July 28 (ANI): YSR Congress Party on Tuesday launched a statewide agitation against alleged irregularities in the mega DSC-2025 recruitment process. Mass protests were organized simultaneously across Andhra Pradesh under the student and youth wings of the party. Protests took place in Vijayawada, Nellore, Tirupati, Nandyal and several other districts, while a proposed rally in Narasannapeta was stopped by the police, leading to a tense situation.
The party has demanded the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him morally responsible for the alleged Mega DSC irregularities. The protesters also demanded a CBI inquiry into the DSC recruitment process, alleging question paper leaks, irregular appointments in sports quota and denial of opportunities to deserving candidates. The agitation also highlighted the NEET paper leak controversy, pending fee reimbursement dues worth thousands of crores and the failure of the coalition government to fulfill its promise of providing unemployment allowance.
Demand for minister’s resignation and CBI investigation
Karthik Yellapragada, official spokesperson of YSRCP, said, “Today, YSRCP is holding statewide protests and rallies over the recent DSC irregularities in the state. Lakhs of people appeared for this exam, most of whom were cheated simply because the entire DSC process was full of irregularities: paper leaks, backdoor money transactions for posts, and sports quota misused. We have all the digitally documented evidence; our respected Leader Jagan Mohan Reddy has also made this public. Yet, Nara Lokesh, with all his arrogance and no sense of responsibility, has done nothing on this so far, and we do not see any concrete reaction to it.”
He further said, “Taking moral responsibility, we demand that Nara Lokesh resign from the post of education minister of our state. Lakhs of people have really been cheated; lakhs of people are completely disappointed because this entire process has not been done in a transparent manner. And therefore, we demand that Nara Lokesh resign, and an independent investigation should also be initiated on this. We also request that the CBI be involved in this, and we also demand a CBI investigation on this, so that it can be found out that our state “What really happened in the DSC irregularities.”

In Vijayawada, a massive rally organized by the YSRCP Youth and Student Wings went from Sambhamurthy Nagar to Dharna Chowk, led by NTR district president Devineni Avinash, former minister Velampalli Srinivas, former MLA Malladi Vishnu, Monditoka Jagan Mohan Rao, Tanneru Nageswara Rao, Swami Das, MLC Ruhullah, former mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi and students’ wing state executive president Ravichandran. Students took to the streets in Nellore also
In Nellore, hundreds of students and youth marched from the BR Ambedkar statue to Gandhi Bomma Centre, demanding Lokesh’s resignation and justice for unemployed youth. The protest was led by former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, MLC Parvatreddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, former MLA Sanjeevaiah, Nedurumalli Rama Kumar Reddy and Anam Vijay Kumar Reddy.
RK Roja took charge in Tirupati
In Tirupati, former minister RK Roja addressed protesters demanding Lokesh’s resignation and a CBI inquiry into alleged DSC irregularities. He alleged that the recruitment process was marred by paper leaks and irregular appointments in the sports quota, claimed that fee reimbursements of over Rs 7,000 crore were outstanding, criticized the government’s failure to provide promised unemployment allowance, and said the party’s agitation would continue until accountability is fixed.

In Nandyal, YSRCP leaders, students and unemployed youth took out a protest rally demanding Lokesh’s resignation over alleged Mega DSC irregularities. The protesters condemned the alleged question paper leak and objected to irregularities in sports quota recruitment. Katsani Ram Bhoopal Reddy, Rami Reddy and MLC Isak Basha participated in the protest.
Tension in Narsannapeta, police stopped the rally
Meanwhile, a tense situation prevailed in Narasannapeta when police stopped the proposed student-youth rally of YSRCP. Hundreds of students and youth from four divisions had gathered under the leadership of Dharamana Krishna Chaitanya and were preparing to leave in a convoy of about 50 vehicles, when a heavy police contingent stopped the rally from proceeding. Krishna Chaitanya demanded a written reason for the restrictions, while the police cited prohibition on large public rallies. YSRCP leaders condemned the police action as an attempt to suppress democratic protests.
“The statewide agitation continues, and more demonstrations are expected from other districts as well,” the party said. (ANI)
