According to the Vedic calendar, Ashadh Krishna Ekadashi Tithi will start on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 8:16 am. At the same time, this date will end on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 5:22 am. Hari Vasar will end on July 11 at 10:32 am. For this reason, this year the fast of Yogini Ekadashi will be observed for two days.
- 10 July 2026 (Friday) Yogini Ekadashi fast for householders.
- On July 11, 2026 (Saturday), devotees of Vaishnav sect will observe the fast of Yogini Ekadashi.
Yogini Ekadashi worship method
On the day of Yogini Ekadashi, wake up in the morning in Brahma Muhurta, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, clean the place of worship and install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. Offer yellow flowers, Tulsi leaves, fruits, Panchamrit and sweets to God. Chanting Vishnu Sahasranama, Vishnu Chalisa or Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya mantra during the puja is considered extremely auspicious. Follow Satvik diet throughout the day and keep remembering the name of Lord Vishnu. After performing Aarti in the evening, break the fast as per rules the next day.
What to do on the day of Yogini Ekadashi?
On Yogini Ekadashi, worship Lord Vishnu with full heart and devotion. Donate food, clothes or whatever according to your capacity to the needy people. Maintain purity throughout the day and chant the name of God. If possible, read religious texts and spend as much time as possible in devotion.
What not to do on the day of Yogini Ekadashi?
Meat, alcohol, garlic, onion and tamasic food should not be consumed on this day. One should also avoid anger, lies, abuses and insulting anyone. According to religious belief, rice is not consumed on the day of Ekadashi. Also, maintaining purity in mind, words and deeds is considered the most important rule of this fast.
