6 lane elevated road will be built from Mayur Vihar to Mahamaya flyover
This ambitious project is being built from Mayur Vihar near Chilla Regulator to Mahamaya Flyover. Under the project, a 5.57 km long 6 lane elevated road is being prepared. After the construction of this road, travel between Noida, Greater Noida and Delhi will become much easier. Especially office going people are expected to get a big relief from the heavy daily traffic.
Big project being prepared at a cost of more than ₹892 crore
According to Ajay Chauhan, Principal Secretary of Public Works Department, this project is being prepared by Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation. Its total cost is said to be around ₹892.75 crore. The government’s focus is not just on building roads, but on modernizing the entire traffic system so that the pressure of increasing vehicles can be easily handled in future.
Which areas will get the most benefit?
After the construction of Chilla Elevated Road, many important sectors of Delhi and Noida will be directly connected with better connectivity. This especially includes areas like Mayur Vihar, Noida Sector 14A, Sector 15A, Sector 16, Sector 18, Mahamaya Flyover and Noida Expressway. People will be able to reach the expressway directly without getting stuck in repeated traffic signals and jams.
Both traffic jam and pollution will reduce
The biggest objective of this project is to eliminate the long standing traffic problem in DSC Road and surrounding areas. The government believes that after the construction of the elevated road, traffic jams will reduce, travel time will be saved, fuel consumption will reduce and pollution will reduce. That is, this project is being considered as a plan to provide relief not only to the road but to the entire traffic system.
More than 52 percent work completed
The effect of Yogi government’s intense monitoring is clearly visible on this project. According to the government, the first milestone has been completed on time. So far, total physical progress has been recorded at 52.11%, financial progress at 42.57%. This means that more than half of the work has been completed and the remaining work is also progressing rapidly as per the schedule.
Latest update of construction work
According to the State Bridge Corporation, many major construction works have been completed in the project. Till now 1303 out of 1567 piles have been ready. 184 out of 271 pile caps have been completed. Out of 1310, 410 girders have been installed. Apart from this, 5 big entry and exit ramps are also being built in the project, so that the traffic can move easily without stopping.
This project can change the traffic system of NCR
Experts believe that Chilla Elevated Road can completely change the traffic system of NCR in the coming times. This project is not limited to just Noida-Delhi connectivity, but it is also being seen as a smart traffic model of the future.
