Uttar Pradesh fast bowler Yash Dayal, who is embroiled in controversies, is going to return to the cricket field after a year. Cases of physical exploitation and sexual exploitation of a minor girl on the pretext of marriage were registered against Dayal, a left-arm fast bowler who was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Due to this, he has been away from the cricket field for the last one year. But now he is returning to cricket action again. Dayal will be seen playing in the UPT20 League to be held in July 2026, where he has been retained by Gorakhpur Lions.
It has been told in a report that preparations are going on for the new season of this T20 league to be organized by Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA). While all the attention is currently focused on where the mini auction will be organized before the new season of the league, in the meantime the teams have announced their retention, in which Gorakhpur’s announcement has attracted the most attention. This team has also retained Dayal along with Aryan Juyal and Siddharth Yadav.
In a report, quoting Sanjay Kapoor, Chairman of the Governing Council of the UPT20 League, it has been confirmed that the Gorakhpur franchise has retained the controversial fast bowler. This has happened because Yash Dayal is going to get No Objection Certificate (NOC) from UPCA. The report quoted the statement of association secretary Prem Manohar Gupta as saying that all the legal proceedings against Yash Dayal have been settled and hence UPCA is going to allow him to play domestic and league cricket.
