Yami Gautam Urges Netizens Not to Alter or Enhance Her Photos Using AI Without Consent

Amid growing concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence to create manipulated images and videos, actress Yami Gautam has urged social media users not to alter or enhance her photographs using AI without her knowledge and consent.

The actress, known for her upcoming film HAQ, took to X to request that pictures and videos from her public appearances be shared in their original form, without any AI-based modifications.

“Please refrain from using AI to alter or enhance my photographs from public appearances. Kindly use images in original form. Altering or manipulating an individual’s image or likeness using AI should not be done without their knowledge and consent. Thank you in advance for respecting my request!” Yami wrote.

Her statement comes amid widespread concerns over AI-generated and manipulated content, following the circulation of a morphed video featuring the song ‘Chuttamalle’ from the film Devara.

On Saturday, actor Jr NTR condemned the video and warned of legal action against those responsible for creating and circulating it. Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Chiranjeevi have also voiced concerns on social media over the misuse of technology.

Meanwhile, Yami is preparing for the release of her upcoming family entertainer, Nayyi Navelli, in which she plays a character named Mohini.

Speaking about the role, the actress said she was drawn to the character because of her unpredictable nature, which combines warmth and familiarity with an element of mystery.

Yami described the film as an opportunity to explore a character moving across family drama, humour, emotion, fantasy and action while remaining emotionally grounded. She also expressed excitement about audiences discovering Mohini on screen.

Jointly backed by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma, Nayyi Navelli is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, 2026, ahead of Dussehra.
