Yamaha domestic sales grew 13.88% year-on-year, while declining 5.21% against July – Newly launched R2 dispatches will reflect in the September figures
Yamaha recorded domestic sales of 68,796 units in August 2026, up from 60,413 units in August last year. This represented growth of 13.88%, or 8,383 additional units. Compared to July 2026, sales fell by 3,783 units from 72,579 units, a decline of 5.21%. RayZR retained its position as Yamaha’s largest-selling model.
Yamaha Sales Breakup Aug 2026
RayZR topped Yamaha’s domestic lineup with 20,700 units, accounting for 30.09% of August sales. Volumes were almost unchanged from 20,671 units a year earlier, registering growth of 0.14%. However, sales declined 12.88% compared to July’s 23,760 units.
FZ ranked second with 14,214 units and a 20.66% contribution. Sales slipped 0.76% from 14,323 units in August 2025, but recovered strongly against July’s 9,912 units. The increase of 4,302 units translated into 43.40% monthly growth, the largest absolute sequential gain in Yamaha’s lineup.
Fascino recorded 9,493 units, up 95.77% from 4,849 units in August last year. This added 4,644 units to Yamaha’s tally, making it a major contributor to annual growth. The scooter also improved 15.98% over July’s 8,185 units and accounted for 13.80% of Yamaha’s August volumes. Alongside RayZR, Fascino remained an important contributor to the brand’s domestic business.
Yamaha 155cc Range Accounts For 35% Share
Yamaha’s 155cc lineup — Aerox, R15, MT15 and XSR recorded combined sales of 23,913 units in August 2026, up 16.27% from 20,566 units a year earlier. XSR’s contribution and gains for Aerox and R15 helped offset the decline in MT15 sales.
R15 led the group with 7,691 units, growing 2.15% over August 2025’s 7,529 units. However, sales fell 26.79% compared to July’s 10,505 units. It accounted for 11.18% of Yamaha’s domestic sales in August. MT15 followed with 7,357 units, down 30.68% year-on-year and 28.90% month-on-month. Its annual decline of 3,256 units was the largest absolute drop among Yamaha’s listed models.
XSR added 5,254 units, with no sales recorded in the year-ago comparison. Volumes increased 4.41% over July’s 5,032 units, giving it a 7.64% contribution to Yamaha’s August total. Aerox registered 3,611 units, up 48.97% from 2,424 units in August last year. Sequentially, sales declined 20.53% from 4,544 units.
EC06 Gains, R2 Dispatches Begin
The EC06 electric scooter recorded 475 units, up 61.56% from 294 units in July. No volume was listed for August 2025. Meanwhile, the combined R3/MT03 category recorded just one unit, compared to four units a year earlier and zero in July. Yamaha also launched the new R2 in August, with prices starting at Rs 2.30 lakh. in September, and the motorcycle has already started reaching showrooms ahead of initial customer deliveries.
