Puja Rules: In Sanatan Dharma, rules have been made for performing puja, fasting and yagya. Generally it is seen that people stand up while making offerings during puja or yagya. If you are doing puja, fast, yagya with determination then no matter how difficult or complex the problem is, it is a rule not to leave the place of worship. If you do such things then the puja is not complete. This information has been given by famous astrologer Dr. Basavaraj Guruji. He has advised people to concentrate and be absorbed in God during puja.
Guruji says that many people get up and start talking during Homa and Yagya due to phone calls, arrival of VIPs or other reasons. At such times the puja cannot be completed. Not only this, while performing any Homa at home like Ganpati Homa, Mrityunjay Homa, Satyanarayan Homa, Sudarshan Homa, Navagraha Homa, Ayush Homa, even if the priest gives a pause of a few minutes, the person performing the Homa should not go out of the Yagyashala. This breaks the sanctity and resolve of the puja.

He told that an example of this is the story of Sita Devi in Ramayana. It is said that during the fast in Valmiki Ashram, Sita Devi had to face many difficulties because she got up midway and went a little further. Therefore, during any worship or fasting, faith, devotion, determination, fasting method and discipline are necessary. By following these the fast is completed.

No one else should be allowed to sit in the middle of the Yagya.
Guruji says that even in big ceremonies like housewarming or pujas performed by the rich and politicians, some people get up and start roaming in the middle. Due to this the entire puja becomes useless and no result is obtained. If due to some unavoidable reason the worshiper has to get up and leave, he should allow someone else who was involved in the puja from the beginning to complete the puja. No one else can be made to sit in the middle. Guruji has advised that everyone should follow things as per Dharma.
